Update 4 years later: unfortunately they've changed owners and they don't have those mouthwatering pork knuckles any more. Food was still decent though. Fantastic pork knuckle. Probably the most tasty food I've had anywhere in Germany (and I wasn't even very hungry when I visited). Quick, friendly service despite being a popular/busy spot. Friendly local and international crowd. Communal tables to share and meet new friends. They also sell Oktoberfest beer mugs, small for €3.5, large for €7.

Very rustic inn, we had a cozy table in the restaurant. The entire staff was very attentive and courteous. Our reorders were kindly received (no extra charge!) Our food was solid and tasty, home cooking! Price / performance absolutely okay!

Very friendly service and the food tasted good. In my opinion, it could have been a little more ... we got a dumpling on request. Unfortunately it was quite loud in the restaurant, so that we sometimes had difficulties communicating.

Once we really loved to be here. Don't know what happened but it was aweful. Food was cold and didn't taste good at all. Service was ridiculous. We had to let the food warm up twice.... only people who don't really know what Bavarian cuisine means can tolerate this.... we are deeply disappointed. Hope it will change again for the better......

We always like to come back, even if it is full, somehow we are looking for a place. If necessary, first at the counter. Doesn't matter, I always feel good there. And later a table will be free anyway. Very attentive service, super delicious food, and the most important thing: Augustinians! 10 stars!

Great food. Great service. When in Germany, you must sample the local eats. It was the closet German restaurant to our hotel and we were very pleased with our selections. We ordered the spatzel and schnitzel.

Traditional spinach noodles were the best. The texture and savoryness of the ground boiled and grilled again! Try on the special menu rather than the regular menu.

Food was delicious. We were there without any reservation but they were able to accommodate us as well as my request for schnitzel which was not in the menu. Thank you for the great service.

Had a tasty schnitzel and a good dunkel beer, but sadly the fries were too salty.

The fries was a little too salty, but I loved the schnitzel and the atmosphere.

We're from the USA. Heard about this place from our hotel Tryp. Very good food my wife had the Chopped Pork Special and I had the Pork Schnitzel special. Big portions it was too much to finish everything. Service was very good too.

Tourists, STAY AWAY!!! Food: I ordered roasted pork (Schweinebraten) and got like 5-6 small pieces of meat as if the cook collected all the leftover from the others and put in 1 dish. Food wasn't warm enough, the meat was too dry and hard. The worst Schweinebraten I have ever eaten. Service: when I hadn't even finished a half, the waiter came and gave bill. I was surprised but still paid and told him that I didn't ask for bill YET. He said "Because many tourists eat and leave without paying". WTF, so you have the right to serve bad food and service to all other tourists??? after that I couldn't swallow their food anymore.

Great little place for another beer after Wiesn!

Classic Bavarian cuisine with a quirky owner, Sauerkraut was top notch.

Visited during Oktoberfest. I think it has a special menu during the wiesen. Food was average and not very warm. I ate roast pork and apple strudel. Portion size was small. Service was average. Staff playing on their mobile phones. I think this is a good place for drinking but not recommended for eating.

Typical Bavares restaurant 10 minutes from the center, excellent meat dishes, courteous staff and well-kept environment. We found ourselves so well that we had 3 consecutive lunches. The staff was always courteous, helpful and fun.

The food was not bad, but it is not a real German restaurant. At the beginning of the lunch they brought bread in silence, but then they put it on the bill. Staff - Hungarians / Romanians. This is not a true German cousine. After all the meal, it was included in a bill. The staff is more Bulgarian than Deutsch.

Good service with careful attention to your personal preferences. tasty food not at all fat. Beef goulach, sausages and meatloaf we had were very well made. The starter chicken salad is recommended as well. overall a very impressive local restaurant.

Good place good staff

I found this store by accident, visited it twice, tried different food and beer, and it was still great. The waiter is friendly to foreigners, the service is very attentive, and it is a very recommended shop. I think I will miss this shop.
